Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) – Pharmacy Program
Bachelor of Pharmacy Graduates
The following learning outcomes apply to graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy after successfully completing the academic curriculum and the mandatory three-month practical internship (Apprenticeship) in an accredited pharmaceutical setting.
LO1 – Application of Pharmaceutical Knowledge
Apply fundamental and clinical pharmaceutical knowledge in selecting appropriate medications, determining dosages, and evaluating drug safety.
LO2 – Respiratory Conditions Management
Assess and manage common respiratory conditions such as cough, cold, and flu, and provide appropriate therapeutic recommendations.
LO3 – Gastrointestinal Disorders Management
Effectively manage gastrointestinal conditions including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, peptic ulcer, and inflammatory disorders, with proper patient follow-up.
LO4 – Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy
Apply pharmacotherapy principles in hypertension and heart failure, including the use of beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, and vasodilators.
LO5 – Rational Use of Antibiotics
Promote the rational use of antibiotics and contribute to reducing antimicrobial resistance through evidence-based evaluation of clinical cases.
LO6 – Anti-infective Therapy
Manage antiviral, antiparasitic, and antifungal therapies while evaluating their efficacy and safety.
LO7 – Pain and Inflammation Management
Select and dispense analgesics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs safely and effectively.
LO8 – Practical Pharmacy Skills
Demonstrate practical competencies including:
- Prescription interpretation
- Safe dispensing of medications
- Professional communication with patients and healthcare teams
LO9 – Professional Ethics and Practice
Adhere to pharmaceutical ethics, regulations, and professional standards while working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
LO10 – Career Readiness
Be prepared for employment in:
