Proper Scientific Writing of the Graduation Project Thesis and Preparation of the Presentation and Defense

As part of Eblla Private University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of scientific research and advancing the standard of graduation projects, a specialized scientific workshop entitled
“Proper Scientific Writing of the Graduation Project Thesis and Preparation of the Presentation and Defense”
was held over three interactive hours.
The workshop focused on preparing the thesis in accordance with the academic regulations adopted by the University, particularly with regard to thesis structure, chapter organization, approved page limits, proper referencing, and the scientific presentation and discussion of results. It also addressed the preparation of an effective presentation, along with public speaking skills and techniques for defending the graduation project.
The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of Khair Al-Din Trisha Kurdi, Vice President of the University; Mazen Samman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Hanadi Jadiba, Head of the Information and Communications Department; Najib Bajaa, University Secretary; and Samer Khanji.
The workshop was delivered by Ghaffar Al-Rifai.
Workshop Themes
The workshop consisted of two main sections:
First: The Thesis
Principles of sound scientific writing for graduation projects
Formatting the thesis in accordance with Eblla Private University regulations
Thesis structure and chapter organization
Approved page limits
Proper academic referencing
Scientific presentation and discussion of results
Second: The Presentation
Preparing a professional academic presentation
Presentation skills and techniques for defending the graduation project
Organizing ideas and effective academic communication
Speakers emphasized the importance of adhering to proper academic standards in writing university theses, affirming that distinguished graduation projects constitute a fundamental pillar in building scientific research and contribute effectively to Syria’s scientific and knowledge-based reconstruction. This, in turn, reflects the University’s mission and its role in preparing qualified cadres capable of serving society and the nation.
