Ebla Private University Graduates A Journey of Scientific and Professional Excellence

Ebla Private University takes great pride in following the journey of one of its distinguished graduates, pharmacist and researcher Shaima Sukkar, who graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University in 2016 and went on to build an outstanding professional and academic career both inside and outside Syria.

Shaima began her professional and community work in the city of Aleppo, where she took part in humanitarian and medical relief efforts with the Namaa Development Association, and worked as a first-aid trainer in cooperation with UNICEF between 2018 and 2019, in addition to managing operations at a pharmacy in Aleppo between 2015 and 2019.

She later relocated to Turkey to pursue her academic and professional path, working in the pharmaceutical field in Istanbul between 2020 and 2021, while concurrently completing graduate studies in Molecular Biology at Üsküdar University, where she earned her Master's degree in 2023. Her research during this period focused on genetic factors associated with rheumatoid arthritis, and she also obtained a license to work with laboratory animals.

In her pursuit of bridging molecular science with clinical practice, she completed a second Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy from Anadolu University in Eskişehir, graduating in 2025, following an intensive academic and professional effort that required commuting between Istanbul and Eskişehir to combine study with practical application.

Professionally, Shaima Sukkar has served since 2021 as Creative Lead at Human Centered Data, where her work focuses on big data analysis and guiding teams in developing data-driven strategic solutions and projects. She also works within the Human Centered Labs (HCL) group, where she manages relationships with researchers and consultants on innovation and data analysis projects.

Published Research

This distinguished scientific journey was recently crowned with the publication of a peer-reviewed study in the Swiss journal Frontiers in Pharmacology, ranked in the first quartile (Q1), titled "Disease Knowledge and Medication Adherence Among Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Undergoing Pharmacist-Led Education."

Ebla Private University congratulates researcher Shaima Sukkar on this scientific achievement, and affirms its pride in its graduates who continue to represent the University's name with excellence on global professional and research platforms.
