Ebla Private University on a Scientific Research Visit to Italy
Ebla Private University took part in a scientific research visit to the University of L'Aquila, represented by Dr. Mazen Samman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as part of the Erasmus program activities and under the scientific cooperation agreement signed between the two universities since 2017, during the period of May 24–31, 2026.
The visit aimed to learn about the University of L'Aquila and its faculties, particularly the Faculty of Engineering and its diverse specializations, as well as to activate the provisions of the scientific agreement and strengthen prospects for joint cooperation.
- Scientific meetings with the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering, department heads, and the Erasmus coordinator, under the supervision of Professor Donato Di Ludovico.
- Discussion of ways to activate the agreement and pursue research cooperation in the near future.
- A presentation on Ebla University and the urban landscape of Aleppo, particularly its Old City (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986), and strategies for its revival and restoration, with an agreement to turn several of these themes into joint case studies.
- A lecture for graduate students (Master's in Urban Planning) on the urban landscape of Aleppo and its future needs.
- Participation in graduate project seminars and discussion of the planning frameworks for various Italian case studies.
- Field visits to the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine, and Humanities, as well as Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
- A preliminary agreement to organize workshops and mutual visits.
- Opening the door for Ebla University students to benefit from Erasmus scholarships at the graduate level.
A new step that strengthens Ebla Private University's presence in international academic cooperation, opening promising horizons for our students and researchers.
