Ebla Private University Contributes to a Peer-Reviewed Study in BMC Chemistry
In a step that strengthens research collaboration among Syrian universities, a joint research team supervised by Dr. Reem Hasan Obeidou of Ebla Private University and Dr. Ola Mahmoud Younes of the Department of Analytical and Food Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Damascus University, has published a peer-reviewed study in BMC Chemistry, a Springer Nature journal ranked Q2 in Scopus. Ebla Private University contributes to this achievement through Dr. Reem's supervision of the research.
Critical evaluation of AI-assisted HPLC method development: a case study of ranolazine analysis with systematic assessment of prediction accuracy and human optimization requirements
The study evaluated four AI platforms in HPLC method development, with an overall prediction accuracy of 72.9%. It also developed a green analytical method for ranolazine (an angina medication) that avoids the toxic solvent acetonitrile entirely, achieving a sustainability score of about 82/100 on the WECA scale. The method was validated according to ICH Q2(R1) guidelines.
AI accelerates analytical method development, but it does not replace human expertise.
