First: Reason for Establishing the Directorate

The Directorate of Scientific Research was established to enhance the University’s position as a research-oriented academic institution that produces knowledge, improves the quality of scientific research in line with international academic accreditation standards, and directs research activities toward societal issues and sustainable development. This is achieved within an organized institutional framework that supports innovation, contributes to transforming research outputs into applications of scientific and economic value, and strengthens the University’s ranking and presence in international scientific databases and global rankings.


Second: Vision of the Directorate

To advance the University as a leading research institution that contributes to the production of rigorous scientific knowledge, supports innovation, and serves sustainable development at the local, regional, and international levels.


Third: Mission of the Directorate

To organize and develop the scientific research system at the University by supporting researchers, enhancing the quality of research, directing it toward development and community-related issues, and building effective research partnerships with reputable scientific institutions.


Fourth: Objectives of the Directorate

  • Developing a research environment that fosters creativity and innovation within the University.
  • Enhancing the research capacities of faculty members and postgraduate students.
  • Promoting a culture of scientific research among undergraduate students.
  • Supporting research quality and ensuring originality in accordance with standards of academic integrity.
  • Linking scientific research to community needs and productive sectors.
  • Enhancing scientific publishing in peer-reviewed and internationally indexed journals.
  • Expanding research partnerships at the local and international levels.
  • Supporting the transformation of research outcomes into practical, investable applications.

Fifth: Main Tasks of the Directorate

  • Proposing the general policy and strategic plans for scientific research at the University and monitoring their implementation.
  • Preparing and organizing regulations and procedures related to scientific research (registration, follow-up, evaluation, and completion of research projects).
  • Reviewing interim and final research reports and submitting them to the competent authorities.
  • Building and enhancing the research capacities of faculty members and postgraduate students.
  • Encouraging students to engage in scientific research starting from the undergraduate level.
  • Establishing research units in cooperation with faculties and academic departments.
  • Establishing and managing an electronic database for researchers and integrating it with the University’s digital systems.
  • Building research partnerships with local and international universities and research centers.
  • Supervising cooperation in scientific peer review and the supervision of theses and research projects.
  • Supporting applied research and linking it to community needs and labor market demands.
  • Ensuring adherence to research ethics and intellectual property rights.
  • Organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and research workshops.
  • Supporting scientific publishing in peer-reviewed and internationally indexed journals.
  • Encouraging participation in local and international scientific conferences.
  • Preparing the annual scientific research report and submitting it to the University Presidency.
  • Carrying out any other tasks assigned by the University Presidency.
